It is the standard form of medicated treatment of the condition. People could have erectile dysfunction for a variety of reasons, such as depression, the use of certain medications, anxiety or a variety of other reasons.

To treat pulmonary arterial hypertension, it relaxes the arterial wall, which results in a decrease in pulmonary arterial pressure and resistance. It then helps fight right sided heart failure by reducing the workload of the right ventricle.

As well as these uses, it can also fight altitude sickness or high altitude pulmonary edema. This is a more recent discovery and as well as this it has been used in sports by athletes or competitors who believe it opens up their arteries and improves their performance.
